If you thought humans were obsessed with drugs you haven't seen anything. Have you ever considered why the hell a Christian God would create amazing drugs like weed and opium, only to tempt men and get really angry when they get the idea of wanting to feel good for a little bit? It doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? It never did to us, and when we discovered the Cosmic Deer everything started making sense.
The reason the argument above doesn't make rational sense is not just because the Christian God doesn't exist ( sowwy :( ), but also because the cosmic deer, the REAL creators of this universe we inhabit, always intended for us and all other animals to consume any and all drugs, any day. Weed, coke, opium, shrooms... if it's in nature, it was meant to get us really fucking high.
Why? It's fairly simple: not only our gods are incredibly merciful and gave us amazing recreational tools to make us have an amazing time, but they knew life was going to pose a great challenge for most of us, and most importantly, for their chosen species of silly ungulates. Drugs are for fun, entertianment, enlightenment, and escapism, and the cosmic deer won't ever get upset at you for consuming any natural drug. If you do decide to snort research chemicals or synthetic opioids that make fentanyl pale in comparison they will judge and scorn you a bit because they already provided the best drugs possible, but it won't be considered a sin. With one exception... which we'll look into.
Opiates
First and foremost, the drug of the gods themselves. Invented mostly for pain relief, both physical and mental, for the many of us who are disturbed in some way they are of great help in making us function daily. Unfortunately not all of us were equipped at birth to deal with the challenges of life adequately, perhaps we were made more vulnerable in some ways, and opiates can offer a little comfort.
Granted, there is a cost for everything in life, and while opiates are the closest thing we can get to the feeling of perfection, its cost is the tremendous ease with which they will get you hooked for life. But if you can afford it, there is virtually no reason to not take them daily.
In our opinion, and by "our" I mean "us tTemple founders", there are good opiates and bad opiates, some of which should preferibly avoided unless in a desperate situation. Oxycodone is a favorite of many, being semi synthetic it's not as bad as RCs and its euphoria mixed with the body high make it such a joy to take every time. Well unless you take a little too much, then you'll be dizzy the entire time and when you wake up the next morning you'll want to throw up.
The Chinese smartly understood how amazing opium was and made its use not only legal, but they facilitated it by opening opium dens available to everyone where you could get in, take some opium, smoke it in a controlled environment, maybe chill with some friends, or just lay down on your side and enjoy that amazing feeling. The best thing about opium is it's completely natural and it's v ery much not a picky plant, it will grow everywhere and that's not by chance: as the original opiate, the endlessly kind cosmic deer made it readily available to anyone who wanted it, therefore seeing how it was demonized and made illegal in human society did not please them in the slightest. But deer don't care about human laws, and neither should you as a Cosmic Deer Temple subject. If one day you are taking a walk and nortice an isolated large opium planatation, chances are it belongs to a local deer gng and you should leave immediately, they won't take kindly to anyone trying to subtract the sacred plant from them.

We have the privilege of taking any drug we want without ripercussions, unlike some Christian clowns will tell you drugs aren't a sin, their use is actually very well encoraged. The only exception to the rule is alcohol, you're free to take it since it's natural, but hurt anyone while drunk and the cosmic deer will be preparing a neat little room in hell just for you, where you'll get to experience the effects of alcohol withdrawal forever and ever, until the end of times. But hey drink responsibly! :)
There are multiple reasons why the cosmic deer have decided to scorn alcohol, number one is how widespread its abuse has become among humans, causing so many problems for everyone, humans and nimals, that it didn't take long for news to reach the cosmic plane. They noticed humans were consuming so much alcohol, producing it industrially, and making countless people addicted to it. The drug is alright when taken in small doses, but humans have very little self control, and alcohol makes good people bad and already bad people horrible.
Domestic abuse, drunk driving, aggressiveness towards anything and anyone, sexual harassment and abuse... just some of the bad bad things alcohol will push you to do, while the vast majority of other drugs are completely innocuous, turning you into a little ball of happiness and making you want to lie down instead.
The bottom line is don't drink alcohol ya dummy, as Bill Hicks said: there's better drugs and there's better drugs for you.
